Action Items from this Meeting

  • None

Action Items from Previous Meeting

  • ACTION: Peter and Rusty to talk re: QEMU release process and fallbacks
  • ACTION: Michael to add benchmarking to the jobs list
  • ACTION: Michael to reproduce the gdbserver libgcc step into
  • ACTION: Michael to make a blueprint on enabling hot/cold partitioning in PGO
  • ACTION: Peter to send Michael a couple of paragraphs on FMA testing

Minutes

KVM planning:

  • Bridging is unknown
  • How many lightly loaded guests can you fit? RAM constrained
  • How do we handle CPU exhaustion? Starvation
  • What to use as a benchmark
  • Sandboxing QEMU?
    • Very difficult as you still need access to all of guest memory
    • Look through the CVEs, see which this would have helped

-O3 writeup:

  • Asa is in progress with the benchmarks
  • Ken has size and correctness information
  • Not much difference in size (~7 % at top)
  • Sato image is interesting
  • No ICEs and the image boots, no package test suites run

GDB 7.4:

  • Should cut the release today-ish
  • Thiago will do the rebase and the release

Soft float vs hard float results:

  • Different results depending on soft float vs hard
  • GCC uses a multiply-accumulate
  • Which is different due to when the negation was applied

4.7 vectoriser failures:

  • Some are failed to vectorise
  • Some are the tests not being configured correctly
  • Do a couple at the performance call?

Ubuntu:

  • Has uploaded gcc-linaro-4.6-2012.01
  • gcc-4.7 is now available as a native package
  • Would like to do a rebuild, but capacity is a problem
  • Boards are coming but will take time
