Wednesday, 19-01-2011

High-level summary (from tech lead)

  • Kicked off QA effort with some simple tests integrated into Linaro's validation infrastructure
  • powerdebug uploaded to archive for easy installation on Linaro images
  • Kick off for power policy discussion and design
  • CPU Hotplug statistics infrastructure submitted to mainline and being reworked
  • All partner platforms enabled for powerdebug

Invidividual reports (from team members)

  • Amit Kucheria
    • Fixed powerdebug packaging and uploaded to archive
    • Study powerdebug code and make list of next important features
    • Worked with all members to make sure blueprints and work items are in order
  • Vishwanath Sripathy
    • Worked on implementing DVFS Feature for OMAP
    • Posted the patches for internal review (withing TI)
    • Plan to post OPP layer changes to lkml sometime next week after internal alignment
  • Yong Shen
    • repost the clock debug patch to linaro dev for review
    • investigate on ondemand cpu governor on mx5 soc
    • discuss thermal framework with team members
  • Vincent Guittot
    • push a proposal for cpu hotplug tracepoint
    • correct an idle issue on u8500 for hotplug statistic correctness
    • get 1st latency measurement on cpu hotplug
  • Amit Daniel Kachhap
    • Compiled powertop2.0 for arm board but facing issues in execution.
    • Analysed the possibility of test-case script for testing real time cpuidle behaviour but this will insert time information into kernel statistics.
    • Analysing the possibility of testing real time behaviour through running script in host pc and sending uart logs randomly.
  • Steve Jahnke
    • Updated the PM architecture diagram with comments from Dallas sprint and sent for team review
    • Took ownership of the power-policy-management blueprint and updated accordingly
    • Next action: Create a means to control the number of cpu cores using hotplug. Need a governor of somekind at least. Big decision to do this in kernel or user space
  • Torez Smith
    • Defined and implemented infrastructure to automate PM related test cases.
    • Defined git tree and hosting on git.linaro.org for managing and tracking changes
    • Merged PM infrastructure into Linaro's test harness abrek for scheduled execution and results pushed to dashboard
