As part of our support of the compositor technical topics, we are contributing to the compiz project. compiz is a compositing window manager that already supports OpenGL as a rendering backend and through its plug-in framework, and our work is extending it to support OpenGL ES as well. Most of compiz and its plug-ins are licensed under the GPLv2, LGPLv2, and MIT licenses. There is an also an ancillary OpenGL toolkit called nux that is used by certain compiz plug-ins to which we will be contributing; this has been re-licensed with a dual license and is available to us under LGPLv2.

We would greatly appreciate the approval of the TSC in making these contributions.

Thanks in advance,
Jesse Barker
