Roadmap Terminology Definitions
This page is used to document what each symbol means to aid consistent use between teams.
Work item has been made available to target audience (Members or Public) and all associated artifacts are updated to reflect status. (JIRA cards, Blueprints, etc. have the correct status). Date is actual month when TSC/OPSCOM approves deliverable.
End date is forecast and metrics are being collected. Development is ongoing, developer(s) active. The code, documentation and regression test cases to verify the code are being created. Expectation is that resources are available and dependencies have been met and forecast date reflects high confidence.
Planning has been done for a task, JIRA Roadmap Card and related blueprints exist and resource estimates and gating dependencies are known. Owner team has been identified and TSC agreed prioritization has been secured. Card has been reviewed by TSC or OPSCOM and approval to go forward has been given. Some preliminary development maybe in progress. Forecast date may change based on when dependencies are met.

Range of time when Upstreaming activity for a specific feature should happen. The color of the symbol should reflect the same as Drafting/Approved/Scheduled/Development/Closed based on resourcing and activity.
Represents work items that are continually ongoing and do not have an end date. The color of the symbol should reflect the same as Drafting/Approved/Scheduled/Development/Closed based on resourcing and activity.
Point when a significant community or external release occurs that influences (and may be a dependency) for a deliverable.
In some cases, roadmap items in any of the above stages may be locked down for member access only. Generally, these items will not be shown on public roadmaps.
