Team Highlights

  • Servers - meeting took place on the subject between ARM and IBM. Focus is now on lower end, eg 4 x A15, 2 x GPUs. C groups in the kernel scheduler is a useful, basic implementation, Paul will write up about the current scheduler capabilities. On the network boot there are now Debian installer patches (to override network settings during installation) as well as uboot patches.
  • ARMHF - work continuing on the 1109 work items. Build farm is being set up in order to enable the ubuntu and debian builds to run. Also kicked off ChromeOS builds (x86 and ARM). Additionally setting up the session in Plumbers for hard-float
  • Web stack: this is a new thread of work focusing on booting to the gecko rendering engine - performance benchmarking is needed. Also there is need to approach Mozilla for this activity
  • Future:
    • Need to schedule TSC technical discussions:
      • Getting emulation in better shape, on x86
      • Low end ARM server scheduler
      • Boot architecture - defining stacks. Especially related to BA it has now reached a point where concrete development tasks need to be carried out. Looking for resources to work on this. See minutes from Connect here for details on the scope

      • Web performance
      • Security

Miscellaneous

  • Vacation: David Rusling - away during wk 35 (20110829-20110902), Loïc Minier (20110825-20110901)
  • Linaro Connect Q4.11: information is now available for registration and to start the travel arrangements
