Approved to publish last week meeting: 21st March

Survey on LEG-SC call timing

Survey closed, 14/23 voted:

  • 1 vote for alternating US early time and China morning every week
  • 2 votes for 3wk on US early time and 1wk on China morning
  • 2 votes for two calls every time same day at EU+China and EU+USA timings
  • 9 votes for confirmation of current set up

Agreed to keep LEG-SC calls on Thursdays at 7.30am PST. Andrea available to organize separate sync calls at more convenient China or West Coast timings for those members who cannot participate.

Oracle OpenJDK Contributor Agreement

Approved by LEG-SC last week, just approved by the TSC as well: request Linaro COO to review and execute it.

UEFI Card approval

Jon, Leo: ok to approve current cards.

ARM shared some feedback on those cards by email, ongoing review. Update next week, keep the cards on hold.

Roadmap update

Andrea received feedback from ARM by email and in a separate call:

  • cards in draft shall be visible only for authorised log-in's + all at Linaro
  • cards can become public once approved by the steering committee
    • review and clean all draft / internal / work-in-progress comments
  • Jon: at Red Hat there are private and public comments, maybe the same can be done in Jira?
  • Bill: initially proposed to publish the roadmap to show momentum around the ARM ecosystem. OK to hide the details from cards that are pending review for people without login access.
  • Andrea: what about the hyperlinks to hidden cards? remove? leave them as broken links? restrict the roadmap to the next planned quarter only?
    • Bill/Jon: hyperlinks to hidden cards showing a "forbidden page" is anyway acceptable.
    • Rob: redirect to Linaro membership services, "Join Linaro" page or the "Connect registration" page!

Andrea proposed to keep the roadmap on hold and review next week.

  • Leo: what about the concerns from Assaf about perf fit for the RAS Daemon last week?

    • Andrea: Robert Ritcher is confident that perf can do the job nicely. There is in parallel another proposal for a Ras Daemon based on ftrace. Robert will be a guest to the LEG-SC in few weeks, as soon he completes the ongong investigation.

    • Jon: please keep me informed, can help investigate

ARM is adding one additional assignee for spot projects, starting with Neon/Intrinsic optimizations on AArch64 for the CRC algorithm, taking over the accomplishments by Steve Capper on v7.

  • Julien soon on board as assignee from Citrix
    • proposal to start brining XEN in Linaro CI loop and identifying tests for LAVA
    • cards to be drafted together with Stefano
  • Kiko: is it true that SUSE has a working prototype of QEMU for AArch64 but not able to release it at the moment? Is it due to the ARM ARM v8 documentation not being public yet?
